Despite being a finalist in the Restaurant and Catering Awards for the New Restaurant Award, Chapter One remains as unpretentious as ever. With Jason Walkerís experience and credentials, itís hardly surprising that this understated family-run restaurant remains true to its long list of regular customers. Passing through the imposing front doors, diners receive a warm greeting. Sleek lines and splashes of crimson complement the intimate dining room.

The menu tantalises with quail, rabbit, crab, duck and foie gras. The signature dish of Rabbit and Wild Mushroom Pie is a constant favourite, as is the Blue Manna Crab Angel Hair Pasta with tomato sugo.
The petite, if slightly limited menu is extended with the daily specials such as Albany Rock Oysters, Confit of Duck and Barramundi. The dessert menu includes a perfectly formed panna cotta, chocolate fondant, cheese plate and petit fours.

Regardless of how busy the dining room is, the waitstaff are so efficient that diners are not distracted by the other patrons. This makes Chapter One ideal for a romantic rendezvous.

The small but interesting wine list includes Australian and European wines with a narrow selection of offerings by the glass.

At approximately $70 per head for three courses, the menu has the scope to expand, giving this young restaurant the longevity it strives for and deserves.
