Since 1992 the Maya has been reputably serving some of the best Indian cuisine in Perth. Located around the corner from Fremantleís famous cappuccino strip, Maya caters well to its regular clientele and visitors to the coast.

The interior isnít the usual Indian chaos. Sleek and contemporary decor spreads over four levels, giving the feeling of intimate dining while still catering well to its long list of fans. Given the flexible lay-out of the restaurant, it also caters well to functions without disrupting normal service.

Serving authentic Indian cuisine, the menu includes the usual comfort food including tasty vegetarian options and of special note is the slow-cooked goat cooked on the bone. The compact dessert menu includes some innovative variations including their famous Ras Malai (poached cheese cake served in a saffron sauce). The banquet menus are ideal for groups of over four people and are specific to the regions of Punjab, Delhi and Bombay.
Those fortunate enough to live nearby can take advantage of the take-away menu.

The wine list features principally WA wines with the odd exception and most bottles are under $40.00, making the wine list good value. The upstairs lounge is a popular spot to join friends while waiting for your table.

The friendly staff extend their Indian hospitality with their warm and efficient service, although expect a leisurely wait on busy nights.

Three courses cost approximately $50.00 per person.

A quirky touch is the dining room decoration of fashion and jewellery from the fashion label Rush Me, located upstairs on the third floor and on weekends the bar room becomes an outlet. Maya won the best Indian Restaurant in WA in the Restaurant and Caterers Awards for Excellence 2009 and was nominated in the Top 10 Perth restaurants in the Gourmet Traveller 2010 Restaurant Awards.
